Preparation for School
Starting school for the first time is exciting, but I can also be a
time of anxiety for both children and families. We would like your
child’s transition to our school to be as smooth as possible and work
hard to create a firm partnership between home and school.
Transition can be made easier by:
- Talking about school.
- Walking past the school at different times so that your child can see the building as a familiar part of the village.
- Participating in events such as the Summer Fayre, toddler race at sports day, Thursday afternoon toddler group, when the children become familiar with the school building and mixing with the school routines and community.
- Encouraging independence, particularly when dressing.
