Healthy Eating

As a school, we actively encourage our children to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Children in KS1 receive a free piece of fruit through the School’s National Fruit and Veg Scheme. We also provide a free piece of fruit or veg for KS2 which is funded by a monthly cake sale, or children may bring in their own fruit at break time. Sweets are not allowed.

Suffolk County Catering provide nutritionally balanced, delicious meals cooked at a local larger school. Menus are sent home in advance and provide a vegetarian option. The children also have a choice of salads and a second pudding option of yoghurt and fruit. Meals can be booked weekly or daily.

Children are encouraged to drink water freely throughout the day. Fizzy drinks are not allowed in school at all and fruit drinks are not allowed outside the lunch box.

Milk is provided free of charge to children under five. Older children may have a carton of milk each day for a small cost, collected half termly. Milk is delivered to school and stored in a fridge to ensure the children enjoy a cool drink at break time.
